Release – December 22nd, 2020
Vancouver, BC — The COVID-19 pandemic means many people are going to spend the holiday season without their friends and families. The feeling of loneliness and isolation is going to be especially heightened amongst the seniors in retirement homes in the coming days. In an effort to alleviate this and bring some joy to the seniors, BCSLA has teamed up with the community from Bowen Island which was initiated by Ann-Marie Delawsky and her family who created their own Christmas cards to distribute to seniors.

and the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) to ensure that all BC’s seniors are treated equally when it
comes to determining the Province’s roll out plans for the COVID-19 vaccine and while defining the
priority eligibility for seniors.

Patricia (Pat) Rita Rolande Jenson, a resident of Astoria Retirement Residence has won this year’s BCSLA L.E.A.P (Let’s Embrace Aging Passionately) Award for Resident of the Year. The award was presented on September 10th, 2020 at Astoria Retirement Residence in Port Coquitlam.
