BC Assessment has implemented a "Reassessment Project" of seniors housing facilities, utilizing an "income" approach to property assessment, which in its current form seriously impacts the assessed value of seniors housing properties and the property taxes we pay.

BCSLA is opposed to this proposed new initiative for a number of reasons:

What is CASL?

In June 2008 a Think Tank was held in Ontario and hosted by ORCA. The purpose of the think tank was to bring industry leaders and government together to discuss issues that face the senior living industry both provincial and federal. BCSLA Education Seminars

Our Assisted Living Seminars were started in January of this year in conjunction with the Assisted Living Registrar. Industry professionals were asked to donate their time to investigate the topics and present the information. We thank all presenters for doing such a great job. The topics were:
